After finishing high school in Cohuna, Tash wasn’t sure what her future held. So, she moved to Melbourne, gained experience and machinery tickets, and hoped for the best when she moved back home. Just a week later, she landed a role at Mawsons’ Pyramid Hill Quarry, and she’s been thriving ever since.
Tash now operates a range of machinery, from dump trucks to loaders, and takes on different responsibilities across the quarry. She’s found the work dynamic, the learning continuous, and the team environment incredibly supportive! However, what really stands out most is the people; Tash says the crew and management make it easy to ask questions, try new things, and feel heard.
Though she once thought her future might be in university or law enforcement, Tash has discovered a rewarding career path in an industry she hadn’t considered and now encourages others to do the same!
