About the role 

This is a part-time fixed term contract until December 2024 approx. 14 hours per week – Thursday’s and Friday’s – located in Cabramatta NSW.

About the opportunity

Uniting is seeking an experienced Children’s Worker to join our team in Cabramatta NSW. This position is supporting a school readiness playgroup and will work with families to support children’s transition into formal learning. As a Children’s Worker for our Supported Playgroup – School Readiness Program, you’ll collaborate with our dedicated team at the Cabramatta Multicultural Family Centre. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating developmentally appropriate activities for children and families.
  • Facilitating engaging group sessions and assisting with setup and cleanup.
  • Supporting children’s transition to formal schooling.
  • Conducting child assessments and referrals.
  • Collaborating with parents and caregivers.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working with young children.
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse groups.
  • Organisational skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Driver’s license and reliability.
  • Current NSW WWCC
