About the role
Reporting into the Data Manager, the Senior Data Engineer plays a key role in maintaining Craveable Brands data solutions. This role ensures that data is both high quality and readily available to enable data driven decision making across the business. The role also plays a part in continuous improvement and development of our current solutions to ensure are best in class.
Key Activities Include:
Data Warehouse Management
- Develop solutions to ingest data from identified source solution into the Craveable Brands Data lake.
- Support of the data dimensional model for the Enterprise Datawarehouse and Data Lake.
- Monitor and maintain these solutions to ensure that data is available when required.
- Support of the data pipelines and integrations for importing and exporting data and processing through the Craveable Brands data environment.
Data Quality Management
- Ensure that the data provided by the Craveable Brands data solutions is fit for purpose and accurate.
- Implement a data quality process to proactively monitor and manage data quality.
- Ongoing enhancement of the data pipelines, integrations and models to meet new requirements.
- Translating and scoping and design of new data enhancements and requirements to technical solution.
Vendor Management and Business Support
- Manage 3rd party developers ensuring development meet the Craveable Brands standards and that the business requirements are delivered.
- Ad-Hoc Data Mining Support to the business for complex information needs. Includes supporting other team members on report/dashboard development as a data subject matter expert.
About You
Essential
- Minimum 3 years Data Warehousing Experience (2 years with large data sets (i.e. Greater than 20 TB).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Data Integration tools (2 years with multi hour near real-time daily ETL jobs).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Data Modelling and experience with methodologies such as Star Schema.
- 3 years’ experience with Business Intelligence tools.
- Experience with SQL Server, Cloud base data platforms, I.E Azure, GCP, Snowflake or AWS.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Information Systems or similar field.
- Experience with reporting solutions I.E. MicroStrategy and Power BI an advantage.
- Experience with Python or Power Shell.
