Volunteer Social Support Eastern Suburbs

About the opportunity 

We are seeking volunteers to provide social support (companionship and activity support) to aged care residents across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Our social support volunteers play important roles in people’s lives; keeping people connected, active and continuing to participate in the activities they love, such as bingo, card games, chess, men’s group, reading, gardening, art and more.

What you need

• An interest in people and genuine interactions
• Active listening skills
• A few hours a week
• Hobbies or interests you are willing to share e.g. playing chess, knitting, reading, music, bi-lingual, drivers and others

We love learning from our volunteers so if you have a particular skill or hobby, we’d love to hear from you!

Volunteering with Uniting is subject to satisfactory background checks which include a National Police Check and Reference Checks.
