November has become synonymous with the term \u2018Movember\u2019 for great reasons!<\/p>\n
If you didn\u2019t know, Movember<\/a> is when people are encouraged to put down the razor and let that facial fuzz grow all out to raise global awareness for men\u2019s health.<\/p>\n The campaign has taken the world by storm, but did you know that Movember began in Australia?<\/p>\n While it\u2019s become a hilarious talking point across homes, schools, universities, and workplaces, it\u2019s important not to remember why the movement started and the incredible work it\u2019s in aid of.<\/p>\n \u2018Movember: Changing the face of men\u2019s health.\u2019 – Charity motto<\/strong><\/p>\n Movember<\/a> is an annual event to raise awareness of three core men’s health issues:<\/p>\n According to research<\/a>, men are dying six years earlier than women from preventable and curable illnesses. Movember aims to increase awareness of the importance of early cancer detection, diagnosis, and effective treatments and ultimately reduce the number of avoidable deaths.<\/p>\n Besides annual check-ups, it encourages men to be aware of their family history of cancer, speak out about their mental health, and adopt a healthier lifestyle.<\/p>\n Here are some cool facts about the movement and the charity that started it you might not know:<\/p>\n Millions of people across Australia, Europe, America, South Africa, and Canada participate yearly, raising millions in funding towards men\u2019s health research and transforming the way health services reach, educate and support men.<\/p>\n Willing to get involved or help a parent or family member raise some funds<\/a>?<\/p>\n Make sure you follow the rules!<\/p>\n That\u2019s right – even though the charity is all about having fun while raising awareness, there are still some rules you\u2019ll need to follow to participate!<\/p>\n Here are the five core rules set in place by the foundation:<\/p>\n However, getting involved and supporting the charity and its campaigns doesn\u2019t just require growing some facial hair.
