You’ll hopefully know by now that here at Explore Careers, we like to focus on partnering with employers who are as committed as we are to making our communities the best they can be.

Whether that’s through acting to improve equality and inclusion, utilising sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, or making sure they provide accessible opportunities for all.

We all have a role to play in making the lives of those around us, and it doesn’t matter how big or small that role might be. It all counts.

For this reason, when we hear about a great initiative one of our employers supports, we just have to shout about it! And this week, we’re shining the bright spotlight on Grace.

Grace has been a trusted name in household moving, commercial project logistics and records management for over a century.

A legacy of the famous Grace Bros retail and home services empire, the business has expanded to become Australia’s leading service provider of integrated asset moving and information management services for home, corporate and commercial customers.

Grace is the most significant relocation logistics and information management operator within Australasia. The wholly owned Grace Group network of fully operational offices and specialist warehousing facilities extends across every Australian state, territory, and New Zealand.

Grace also recognises its responsibility to contribute to the greater economic and cultural empowerment of First Nations Australians to help ‘Close the Gap’.

According to The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), “only 36% of Indigenous Year 5 students in very remote areas are at or above national minimum reading standards, compared to 96% for non-Indigenous students in major cities”,creating a big literacy gap.

Grace has been partnering with the ILF to empower and build the capability for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in remote Australia to develop and pursue their literacy journeys.

We can’t fully support First Nations Australians if we don’t first understand their experiences, perspectives, challenges and barriers within our communities. There are many ways to grow our education and understanding – and reading is one of them.

Who are Grace?
