We\u2019re also committed to sustainability, taking numerous steps to be environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n<p>In my role as Assistant Store Manager at one of our largest commercial sites in Australia, I handle day-to-day operations, lead safety activities and audits, and support our staff. This includes exploring their future with Bridgestone and finding ways to support their growth.<\/p>\n<p>My role is more office-based, which aligns well with my career path. While I have a lot of knowledge about the staff\u2019s floor activities and tyre changing, my focus is on ensuring everyone&#8217;s safety and helping them work at their best capacity. What I do now\u2014taking care of the staff\u2014wasn\u2019t what I initially envisioned as a career. However, after moving states and starting at this particular store, I realised it was a great company to work for and decided to stay.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t have a specific career path in mind but chose to follow the opportunities that came my way. My passion for working at Bridgestone has grown over time, and I\u2019ve learned a lot about career development from within the company.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re open to taking opportunities as they arise, people are more willing to invest in you and teach you the skills you need. When I recruit staff, I focus on the attitude they bring to work.<\/p>\n<p>The culture at Bridgestone is the best I\u2019ve experienced. We prioritise safety, and the safety culture here is exceptional. Everything revolves around ensuring everyone gets home safe at the end of the day. The workplace is also fun and light-hearted, with staff enjoying a good sense of humour while working.<\/p>\n<p>That old stereotype of the tyre industry being a labour-intensive boys&#8217; club just isn\u2019t accurate. We have many females working on the floor in tyre fitting and in our corporate environment.
