Your role:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Immerse yourself in an action-packed experience while on an Army Combat Gap Year and gain skills for life in one of three Army Combat roles. From the moment you start your experience, you\u2019ll be trained to be part of a highly skilled team to handle any situation and keep the Army moving.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t just reserved for people that are straight out of school. It\u2019s a unique opportunity where you\u2019ll get the chance to try out a year in Defence, learning how to fulfil a combat role that\u2019s unlike any other. You\u2019ll get paid to travel and gain invaluable life and work experience, while making friendships that could last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

One you complete your initial military training, you\u2019ll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles:<\/p>\n

– Infantry Solider<\/strong> where you\u2019ll form part of an Infantry combat team and be armed with advanced weapons and equipment, or<\/p>\n

– Artillery Operator<\/strong> where you\u2019ll operate artillery weapons and provide vital artillery support to Army combat operations, or<\/p>\n

– Combat Engineer<\/strong> where you\u2019ll learn about military field engineering and gain skills in bridge-building, minefield clearance, field defence construction and demolition.<\/p>\n

Life in the Army Gap Year Program: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Action, adventure, exciting career opportunities and amazing mateship \u2013 the Army Gap Year Program is a one-year commitment that takes you out of the office and into barracks, training exercises and the field itself.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the unique sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from serving your country and providing support to communities in need, both here and overseas. Whether you decide to extend into a longer-term role in the Army, or not, you\u2019ll get the chance to see if it\u2019s a good fit for you.<\/p>\n

Along with the highly purposeful work, you\u2019ll be working in a supportive environment alongside highly skilled professionals to help guide you throughout the whole program.<\/p>\n

Salary: <\/strong><\/p>\n

During your 12-month role and on completion of training, you will receive a salary package starting from $66, 963.<\/p>\n

In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.<\/p>\n
