The 12-month experience will arm you with the skills and knowledge to contribute to your career journey inside or outside of the Australian Defence Force. After completing the Gap Year program, you\u2019ll have the opportunity to leave or continue your Army employment in a full-time or part-time capacity.<\/p>\n
From the moment you start your Gap Year experience you\u2019ll be supported throughout your training by professional and enthusiastic Army personnel, who will provide the guidance necessary for you to get the most out of your experience.<\/p>\n
Once you\u2019re finished your training, you\u2019ll join a unit and provide vital support to Army teams to keep them operating at their peak while on exercise or in barracks.<\/p>\n

One you complete your Initial Military Training, you\u2019ll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles:<\/p>\n
– Driver<\/strong> where you\u2019ll get behind the wheels of an exciting variety of high performing military vehicles, from a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon to a 110-tonne heavy equipment transporter designed to carry cargo like tanks, or<\/p>\n – Warehouse Coordinator<\/strong> where you\u2019ll take on a critical warehouse management and logistics role, acquiring valuable supply chain skills and distribute state-of-the-art military equipment that most people don\u2019t get to see, or<\/p>\n – Cargo Specialist <\/strong>where you\u2019ll ensure crucial cargo gets to its destination on time \u2013 by road, rail, sea or air.
