As an Apprentice Substation Electrician you will work in teams and carry out duties associated with the maintenance, installation, augmentation and fault finding and fixing of all electrical plant and equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and HV switch gear and LV switchboards. Predominately working in a zone substation environment, you must be willing to work outdoors, at heights and in all weather conditions.<\/p>\n
Please note that as part of this role you will be required to travel to regional sites and work away from home.<\/p>\n
Our Apprenticeships run over a four-year period, combining formal TAFE study and paid field work to enable you to gain the skills, competencies and experience required for an industry recognised trade qualification (Certificate III \u2013 Electrotechnology Electrician \u2013 A Grade Licence).<\/em><\/p>\n *If you are currently completing a pre-requisite subject, you are eligible to apply, as long as it will be successfully completed by the end of the 2024 academic year.<\/em><\/p>\n We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to consider applying, whether you are leaving school, TAFE, have experience working in a different industry, or if perhaps you have decided university is not for you.\u00a0 We look for motivated individuals who want to be part of a team.<\/p>\n Our greatest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate within.
