Your role:<\/strong><\/p>\n

During your Army Gap Year experience, you\u2019ll gain skills for life in one of three rewarding Army Support roles. You\u2019ll be supported throughout your training by professional and enthusiastic Army personnel, who will provide the guidance necessary for you to get the most out of this experience.<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019re finished your training, you\u2019ll be joining a unit and provide vital support to Army teams to keep them operating at their peak while on exercise or in barracks.<\/p>\n

This experience isn\u2019t just reserved for people that are straight out of school. It\u2019s a unique opportunity where you\u2019ll get the chance to try out a year in Defence, learning how to fulfil a support role that\u2019s unlike any other. You\u2019ll get paid to travel and gain invaluable life and work experience while making friendships that could last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

Once you complete your initial military training, you\u2019ll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles:<\/p>\n

– Driver<\/strong> where you\u2019ll get behind the wheels of an exciting variety of high performing military vehicles, from a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon to a 110-tonne heavy equipment transporter designed to carry cargo like tanks, or<\/p>\n

– Administration Assistant<\/strong> where you\u2019ll learn to be an administration, communication and resource management specialist supporting your commanders and colleagues in barracks and on exercises, or<\/p>\n

– Warehouse Coordinator<\/strong> where you\u2019ll take on a critical warehouse management and logistics role, acquiring valuable supply chain skills and distribute state-of-the-art military equipment that most people don\u2019t get to see.<\/p>\n

Life in the Army Gap Year Program: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Action, adventure, exciting career opportunities and amazing mateship \u2013 the Army Gap Year Program is a one-year commitment that takes you out of the office and into barracks, training exercises and the field itself.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the unique sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from serving your country and providing support to communities in need, both here and overseas. Whether you decide to extend into a longer-term role in the Army, or not, you\u2019ll get the chance to see if it\u2019s a good fit for you.<\/p>\n

Along with the highly purposeful work, you\u2019ll be working in a supportive environment alongside highly skilled professionals to help guide you throughout the whole program.<\/p>\n

Salary: <\/strong><\/p>\n

During your 12-month role and on completion of training, you will receive a salary package starting from $66,963.<\/p>\n

In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.<\/p>\n

You must be aged between 17-24 years old to apply, an Australian Citizen and have completed Year 12, with passes in Year 10 English and Maths. Applicants interested in the Driver and Warehouse Coordinator roles require a provisional licence before they enlist.<\/p>\n
