Tasmania is a place filled with creativity, industry, nature and adventure.
Because we’re the only university in the state, you get close access to the producers and people that are shaping our island. That means learning alongside the very best so you can hone the skills for a successful career. Plus, our committed staff and class sizes mean you’re always more than a number. We’ll give you the personalised attention and support that you need to succeed.
Our whole island is your campus
When you’re in one of the world’s most amazing places, you need to get outside, explore and live while you learn. No matter what you study, you’ll have a hands-on education and an unforgettable adventure. In the natural and social sciences, our island becomes your living laboratory. In health, you’ll travel the state and apply your learning to real-life scenarios. If you’re a maker, you’ll access cutting-edge facilities and technology.
Our courses also put you alongside key decision-makers in government, industry, and the community. You’ll empower yourself and future generations to create a better tomorrow. You’ll also find yourself at the heart of a creative revolution. Working on real briefs and projects, you’ll connect and collaborate with the acclaimed artists, performers and creatives that are drawn here.
Together with schools, we’ve introduced a program to help year 12 students get ahead.
You can apply for our exciting, diverse courses and secure your place early for the next year’s intake.
Our program allows Australian year 12 students to apply for up to five courses at the end of May. We will then release offers monthly from July through to early December, which will take the pressure off you during year 12.
Rather than an ATAR, your application is based on your school’s recommendation and your year 11 results.
The University of Tasmania’s scholarships and prizes program includes state, national and international sponsored programs. We offer more than 400 scholarships across all areas of study. You can even apply for multiple scholarships in one easy application.
Our Support to Study Scholarship Package helps all students who have the potential to succeed at uni. You don’t need to have a high ATAR or have participated in higher education before.
Based on your need, a package is made up of one or more of the following: financial support, accommodation support and support to succeed.
