Over 4-6 weeks our Vacation Program offers you a unique insight into what it’s like to provide accounting and advisory services to a wide range of complex and dynamic clients. Importantly, you get to experience what life might be like as a Graduate with us.

Audit

If you enjoy solving puzzles, working with people, and understanding how businesses tick, a career in Audit & Assurance might be for you!

Our Audit team helps businesses make sure their financial information is accurate and trustworthy. This is super important because it gives confidence to investors, business owners, and even the public.

What do auditors actually do?

As an auditor, you will:

• Work with real businesses to understand how they operate.
• Check financial records to make sure everything adds up.
• Visit client sites (sometimes even warehouses!) to see how things work in person.
• Use data and tech tools to spot patterns and test information.
• Collaborate with a team to solve problems and share ideas.

Every day is different—you might be looking at a company’s expenses one week and helping test their revenue the next. It’s like being a detective, but for numbers!

Our Audit & Assurance team is best suited to students majoring in Accounting.

Accounting & Advisory

If you’re interested in how businesses run, enjoy working with people, and want to help solve real-world problems, a career in Private Business Tax & Advisory could be a great fit!

Our team works with all kinds of businesses, from family-owned companies to high-profile individuals, to help them manage their money, understand tax rules, and plan for the future.

What do you actually do in this job?

As part of the team, you will:

• Get to know your clients and how their businesses work.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns to help them stay on track.
• Work with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) to make sure everything’s done properly.
• Support advisory projects, helping businesses make smart decisions.
• Learn about different business structures, like companies, trusts, and partnerships.

It’s a mix of detective work, problem-solving, and teamwork—and no two days are the same!

What skills do you need?

Our Private Business Tax & Advisory team is best suited to students majoring in Accounting and/or Tax.

Tax

If you’re curious about how money works, enjoy solving problems, and want to help people and businesses make smart financial decisions, a career in Tax could be a great fit!

Our Tax team helps clients of all shapes and sizes to understand and manage their tax responsibilities. We make sure they’re following the rules, saving money where they can, and planning for the future.

What do you do in tax?

As part of the Tax team, you might:

• Help prepare tax returns for businesses and individuals.
• Work with clients to understand their goals and give advice.
• Research tax laws to find the best solutions.
• Support big projects, like business restructures or international deals.
• Use data and tech tools to analyse financial information.

There are lots of different areas in tax too – like international tax, employment tax, GST, and more – so there’s always something new to learn!

What skills do you need?

Our Tax team is well suited to students majoring in Accounting, Tax, Commerce, Economics, Finance or Law.

Financial Advisory

Corporate Finance

If you’re interested in how companies grow, merge, or invest, a career in Corporate Finance could be right up your alley!

Our Corporate Finance team helps businesses make major financial decisions. Whether it’s buying another company, raising money to expand, or planning a big investment, we’re there to guide them through it.

What do you do in Corporate Finance?

As part of the team, you could:

Restructuring Advisory

Our Restructuring Advisory team helps businesses that are facing financial challenges. Whether they’re struggling with debt, going through big changes, or need help turning things around, we step in to support them.

What do you do in Restructuring Advisory?

As part of the team, you’ll:

• Work with businesses in tough situations, helping them find a way forward.
• Analyse financial information to understand what’s going wrong.
• Create recovery plans to help businesses improve their performance.
• Support formal processes like voluntary administration or liquidation.
• Work with banks, lawyers, and business owners to find the best solutions.

Forensic Accounting

Our Forensics team helps uncover the truth behind financial issues. Whether it’s fraud, disputes, or legal investigations, we use data, analysis, and expert thinking to figure out what happened and help fix it.

What do forensic accountants consultants actually do?

As part of the team, you might:

• Investigate financial problems, like fraud or theft.
• Analyse data and documents to find clues and patterns.
• Support legal cases, working with lawyers and other experts.
• Help resolve disputes between businesses or individuals.
• Write reports and present findings that explain what happened clearly and accurately.

It’s a bit like being a detective, but instead of fingerprints, you’re looking at spreadsheets and transactions!

Our Risk Consulting team helps organisations understand what could go wrong and how to prevent it. Whether it’s protecting against cyber threats, improving internal processes, or making sure rules are followed, we help businesses stay confident and prepared.

Depending on your interests and studies, joining our Risk Consulting team could see you working in one of the following sub-teams:

Our Risk Consulting team accepts applications from students of all disciplines but is particularly well suited to students majoring in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Law, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems or IT/Cybersecurity.
