We are a second generation family company with our roots in regional Australia. A large proportion of our workforce is employed in key regional centres and we work closely with farmers across South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Our head office is in Adelaide and we operate meat processing plants in SA and NSW with other processing, value adding and distribution facilities nationally. We continue to invest heavily in developing our operating capabilities in Australia.

About the business and the role

A 100% Australian owned and operated Company, Thomas Foods International’s (TFI) mission is to be the most sought after supplier of Australian lamb meat and processing co-products. With ‘total reliability’ in our quality branded meat products and meat processing infrastructure, we aim to satisfy our customers across 80 countries. Due to production requirements, TFI are currently seeking entry level employees to fill a number of positions within our Lobethal Plant.

Job tasks and responsibilities

We are looking for entry-level employees to fill a range of full-time roles in multiple areas of the business. Production operates from Monday to Friday, averaging 40 rostered production hours per week over a 5 day week and aiming in the near future to go to a 6-day x 10-hour rotating roster from Monday to Saturday. We offer excellent working conditions and remuneration in according with our current Enterprise Agreement.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Packing
  • Trimming
  • Slaughter floor labouring
  • Chiller pushers
  • Loading
  • Sortation
  • Carton room operators
  • Stockyards

On the job training will be provided.

Skills and experience

The plant is one of four meat processing facilities owned and operated by Thomas Foods International and produces lamb & sheep products for domestic and export sale across 80 countries.

Due to production requirements our Tamworth plant is looking for potential employees to fulfill a broad range of roles in all areas of the business, with both Skilled and Entry Level positions available.

Production at our Tamworth plant operates Monday to Saturday over two shifts, averaging 40 rostered production hours per week. A wide range of shifts are available and may suit your current work interests and we at TFIT pride ourselves on providing abundant opportunities to our employees within the business. Holco Fine Meat Suppliers, a leading meat distribution company to the foodservice industry, is offering a position for a Picker/Packer to join our team located at Morningside QLD.

We supply multi-species products, including beef, lamb, chicken and pork to a wide variety of clients.

Your duties will be varied, but will include:

  • Preparation of customer orders to company and customer specifications
  • Order processing and picking and packing
  • Liaising with production, admin staff and other team members
  • Computer labelling scale operation
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Adhering to Workplace Health and Safety Procedures
  • Regular lifting is a requirement of this job
  • Other duties as directed by the Supervisor

This hands-on role will suit a fit energetic person with experience within the foodservice or meat industry, looking for a secure position.
