Peabody Energy, one of Australia’s leading mining and resources companies, is running a free roadshow throughout Term 3 and Term 4 across regional Queensland and New South Wales, visiting communities near its Coppabella, Wambo and Wilpinjong operations. This engaging session gives students an inside look at the many career opportunities available within the resources industry and how a modern mining operation works.
Students will explore the diverse range of roles that support a successful mining operation, from trades and technical careers through to environmental, business, safety and operational pathways. The session will highlight the skills needed to succeed in these careers, including teamwork, problem-solving, innovation and a strong focus on workplace safety.
The presentation will help students understand the different pathways into the resources sector, including apprenticeships, traineeships, graduate programs and on-the-job training opportunities. Students will gain insight into real workplace examples and discover how their interests and skills can translate into rewarding careers within a dynamic and evolving industry.
