During your Air Force Gap year experience, you’ll be part of a team of security forces to help protect the Air Force’s most valuable aircraft, infrastructure and people. You’ll patrol and respond to security threats within the base perimeter and receive the best support through your training by specialist Security Forces.

During your 12-month role, and on completion of training, you will receive a salary starting at $64,267.
In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.
For this role, you must be aged between 17-24 years old to apply, an Australian Citizen, hold a provisional Drivers Licence (minimum) and have completed Year 12, with passes in Year 10 English and Maths.
