Your role:
Unlock your potential and learn to lead others with a one-year Army experience. Through world-class training, you will develop your leadership and management skills. You’ll learn problem-solving strategies, teamwork skills and how to confidently make decisions.
Throughout this Gap Year, you’ll get paid to travel and gain invaluable life and work experience, while making friendships that could last a lifetime.
Whether you’re straight out of school, have already studied at university or worked for a few years since leaving school, this Army Officer experience will enhance your abilities and set you up for future career paths.
Following your training, you’ll join a unit as an Army Officer, leading teams and in command of troops for approximately six months.
Upon completion of your Gap Year and all that invaluable training, you’ll have the opportunity to make leadership in the ADF a full-time career, and every effort will be made to place you in a posting where you’d like to live.

Salary:
During your 12-month experience, you’ll receive a salary starting at $51,277 whilst training and it will increase to $87,989 once qualified, plus 16.4% superannuation.
In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.
