Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships (QPWS&P) have an opportunity for an administrator to join their team on a permanent basis to assist with the administrative support across the Cape York region. This region covers North Cape, South Cape, and Daintree management areas. As the successful candidate in this position, you would provide professional and operational services to the broader team, while being supported by both the regional support team across all administrative functions and the Joint Management team for support for Cape York Protected Aboriginal Lands (CYPAL) areas.

This position is based in Cairns but may require minimal travel to other locations from time to time, including overnight stays.

As the successful applicant in this position, you will be reporting to the Cape York Manager while supporting the broader Cape York team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing a high volume and diverse range of time sensitive correspondence, as well a range of administrative, financial and human resource activities for the Cape York region. Maintaining data and other information systems, undertaking record management duties, arranging travel, assisting with organising meetings/ agendas, and taking minutes when required will be regular day to day activities. You will also be required to field enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

The Region covers North Cape, South Cape, and Daintree management areas. These Management Areas are provided professional and operational services by the Administration Officer which is supported by both the regional support team across all administrative functions and the Joint Management team for support for CYPAL protected areas.

Working across this diverse and challenging role, you will be someone who is highly motivated, likes to be challenged, and is eager to develop your skills in a range of areas to further progress your career within the Department. Problem-solving is second nature to you, and your high level of customer service communications (both written and verbal) will see you build relationships with all stakeholders quickly.

Attention to detail is important, taking pride in your work and having great communication skills while being organised is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Package, MECS, SAP, Aurion, Fraedom and SharePoint, or the ability to develop in these areas, would be advantageous.
