As the Administration Officer (AO3) for the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Team you will be focussed on performing a range of administrative tasks that contribute to business delivery. Tasks will include support in administration, service delivery, finance, human resources, asset management, travel bookings, procurement and facilities for the work unit, and at times the broader branch.

 

As the Administration Officer, RPAS (AO3) you will:

  • Provide efficient, timely administrative support to the Chief Remote Pilot, Deputy-Chief Remote Pilot & Maintenance Controller, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) team, and Remote Pilots of the RPAS team.
  • Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.
  • Undertake data entry and basic analysis and reporting to support business delivery.
  • Coordinate and deliver travel management services for staff.
  • Interrogate, enter data, maintain, and support corporate systems and databases.
  • Set priorities and monitor workflow.
  • Provide customers with information about services.
  • Support coordination of financial information (e.g., reconciliation reports, corporate card expenditure).
  • Support the purchase and management of assets, inventory items and other goods and services.
  • Support the coordination of events including workshops and meetings.
  • Support the identification and implementation of relevant business improvement initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of ad hoc advice and reports on business unit activities.
  • Support the application of Human Resource related activities such as Induction.
  • Coordinate facilities, telecommunications and IT related activities.
  • Support business functions i.e., aircraft registration, training and education, etc.
  • Utilise the department’s ministerial and executive correspondence system.
  • Coordinate asset stocktakes.
  • Coordinate pool vehicles.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of priority training needs.
  • Provide facilities management support to management.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

In addition, all employees are accountable for complying with health and safety policies and procedures, incident and hazard reporting, safe work practices and active participation in relevant training and review of activities such as risk assessments.

All employees, both during and after ceasing work with DES, also have an obligation to actively protect and safeguard confidential, sensitive and proprietary information to prevent the unauthorised disclosure of departmental information.

This position is based on the Gold Coast, however, may require travel to other locations from time to time, including overnight stays.
