About the opportunity

The Thomas Foods International Murray Bridge plant is expanding! Due to demand, we are reaching out to both experienced skin classers and those willing to learn the craft through on and off the job training.

Having a critical eye and a resilient, positive attitude are essential for a proficient skin classer as it can take from 3 to 6 months to become fully qualified, with these skills being recognised throughout the industry.

Your role will include:

• Inspect each skin for defects on both pelt and wool
• Trim pelt to standards and specifications
• Quality control through the detection of defects
• Prepare skins for the export market
• General labouring tasks

• A sharp eye for detail
• Great communication skills
• Able to produce high quality results
• Effective teamwork
• Ability to work autonomously with direction from your manager
• Great time and workload prioritisation skills
