Reporting into the Technical & Menu Innovation Manager, the Quality Assurance Supervisor maintains the required framework between stores and suppliers to deliver high quality and safe food. As a key part of the Implementation Team, this role is pivotal to the continuous evaluation, improvement, and compliance of safe, quality food to our franchisees and customers alike. 

Key Activities Include:
Product Quality & Food Safety

  • Conduct product surveillance checks to ensure compliance to specification.
  • Co-ordinate product recalls/withdrawals and conduct thorough investigations of such events with the supplier.
  • Work in conjunction with suppliers to improve product quality and efficiency.

  
Supplier Management

  • Manage supplier quality & food safety systems and processes to conform to Craveable Brands standards and Federal/State regulations.
  • Execute the Craveable Brands Approved Supplier Certification Program and ensure it is adhered to, including surveillance and reporting of supplier performance.
  • Review Supplier Quality Incident systems and trends, ensuring feedback is communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Technical Compliance

  • Provide support and guidance to the Menu Innovation and Go-To-Market teams across brands in relation to food safety & quality tasks.
  • Maintain supplier information, certifications register and product & packaging specifications.
  • Document and maintain technical details and procedures.
  • Ensure strong business relationships with all internal and external stakeholder management is maintained.

About You 
Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in food science or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years experience in food science or related field.
  • Demonstrated Experience in Quality Assurance in the food industry (retail, hospitality, manufacturing, supply chain) or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of key industry food standards including federal & state-based legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • A dedication and commitment to quality, process and compliance.

  
Desirable

  • Previous experience in the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) industry highly regarded but not essential.
  • The ability to travel interstate for short periods of time on an infrequent basis.
