About the role
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for overseeing Craveable Brands financial accounting functions. This role directly leads our offshore accounting team and works closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting of financial results.

Key Activities Include:

• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts.
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights to senior management.
• Oversee the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee the monthly and annual closing process.
• Supervise an offshore team of seven.
• Prepare tax lodgments including monthly BAS, FBT, payroll tax and income tax.
• Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with Australian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Provide support for ad hoc projects as required, leveraging knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation practices. 

About You 

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification from CPA Australia or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the restaurant or retail industry, with a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.
• Experience managing a team of financial accountants, demonstrating leadership and mentoring skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software packages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement based on financial data and analysis.
