We are currently seeking a motivated Station Assistant to join our Stations Operations team based in Maryborough. In this role you will work fairly autonomously however you will have the support of an experienced small team of up to three people per shift to assist you in performing routine duties associated with station operations. This role will require to drive and convey passengers on a bus between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay and will require you to drive a company vehicle to Howard Station to perform cleaning and maintenance duties.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity which generally works between the hours of 0400 to 2200 and is split between a morning, day and night shift that you will rotate through on a roster. This role will also require you to work weekends and public holidays.
We are looking for an adaptable individual who has outstanding communication and customer service skills. Previous experience in driving a bus or operating yard machinery is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities of a Station Assistant include:
• Convey passengers between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay
• Assist with safe and on time arrival and departure of the services, including platform announcements
• Provide quality customer services by interacting, assisting and directing customers
• Assist with proper upkeep, maintenance, repair and servicing at Maryborough and Howard Station and equipment (e.g. cleaning, mowing and whipper snipping)
• Report anything that may impact on staff or customer safety to the Supervisor
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Supervisor
You will need:
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously but also within a team environment
• Ability to work safely and follow directions given
• Current manual ‘MR’ License
• Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including cleaning and lifting of heavy luggage up to 20 kilograms

• Drivers Authorisation Qualification
