Porters are the face of Queensland Rail and are responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our customers. We currently have multiple opportunities for enthusiastic customer service staff to join our dedicated teams on either a casual or fixed-term contract (up to 6 months) basis, working across a 24/7 operational roster.
As a Porter your duties will include the following:
• Monitoring, observing, and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of people and Queensland Rail property.
• Delivering customer service excellence to our customers, including providing assisting to customers with specific needs.
• Maintaining clean and tidy station facilities and surrounds, which will involve some lifting
• Providing a visible presence at selected stations
Candidates will be required to:
• Work across a 24/7 operational roster
• Work shift work including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Have access to a personal vehicle to travel to and from work when public transport is not available.

Vacancy Locations:
• These roles are located at various locations across the South East Queensland network.
• Some of these primary stations in the SEQ Network will include (but not limited to) Nambour, Caboolture, Petrie, Kippa-Ring, Sandgate, Northgate, Bowen Hills, Brisbane CBD, South Brisbane, Manly, Cleveland, Indooroopilly, Springfield Central, Redbank, Ipswich

Vacancy types:
• Our fixed-term contract opportunities are full time (76 hours per fortnight) and have a commencing salary of $63,611.34 + super + overtime.
• Our casual opportunities have no set specified hours per fortnight and have an hourly rate of $32.19 + 23% casual loading + super.

Recruitment & selection process:
Please note – the below dates are subject to change.
• Applicants should present themselves in a professional manner at all stages of the application process, including the video interview.
• Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a short online Math and Safety video screen on 29th June 2022. This must be completed by 11:59pm on 4th July 2022.
• Applicants who are successful at the video screen will then be invited to attend a Group Interview (Assessment Centre) and formal interview on the 12th July 2022.
• If you are successful at formal interview, you will need to apply for a National Police Certificate (Name Only). Please note that this will be at your own expense, and further information will be provided to you at the time. You will need to provide a completed, satisfactory National Police Certificate prior to being considered for an offer.

• External applicants applying for roles within Queensland Rail will also be subject to Alcohol and Other Drugs pre-employment testing.
