The Transport Coordinator (based in Ingleburn) is responsible for supporting the transport of equipment between branches and business units. The role is also responsible for assisting in the management of contact suppliers, ensuring the suppliers used are compliant with Coates Hire’s safety systems. The key focus of the role is to ensure the efficient and profitable coordination of equipment.

Your new role awaits:

  • Demonstrate Safety Leadership by leading and contributing to Coates Hire’s Safety First – Zero Harm safety culture
  • Ensuring the safe use of compliant transport contractors to transport equipment for both Intra and Interstate businesses.
  • Source transport services for delivery and pickup of equipment for Coates Hire branches.
  • Source the most cost-effective means of transport to ensure the best return on investment.
  • Liaise with transport providers to obtain quotations and engage services for larger-scale transportation of equipment within the Coates Hire network.
  • Liaise with the branch manager and staff in general to maintain effective communication and meet customer needs
  • Liaise with Fleet and Operations departments to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Plan, allocate and Coordinate transport moves for customers.
  • Drive effective customer service to ensure a continuing share of wallet.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Maximising use of company vehicles and meeting monthly KPI’s
  • Monitoring and revising driver schedules throughout the day

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in a similar role desirable but not essential
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – experience with TMS highly regarded
  • Geographical knowledge of the Sydney metro area
  • Highly organised with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
