AMSG is Brisbane headquartered and operates throughout Australia and beyond, in the delivery and maintenance of infrastructure, security and electronic systems to the Government, Maritime, Ports, Defence, Utilities and Resources industries. These systems range from onshore and offshore structures including lighthouses and navigational aids, right through to cutting edge surveillance, CCTV, access control and traffic management systems.
AMS Group expanded its capability with the addition of two new divisions joining the group in 2022: Poseidon Sea Pilots and Access Datacom.

Tailored Traineeships
AMSG offers a variety of tailored traineeships across our departments to enable our employees to obtain Cert III and Cert IV qualifications whilst gaining on the job experience at the same time. Our supervisors and managers take pride in coaching and mentoring our up-and-coming talent while they continuously learn and grow professionally and personally throughout our various locations around Australia. These certifications include but are not limited to Telecommunication Technology, Life Support Systems, Aeronautical Life Support Equipment, Project Management and Engineering Drafting. We offer paid classroom training days and study support during each traineeship.
AMSG Security Traineeships
AMSG is open to taking on 2-3 Security trainees a year in Adelaide with opportunities to work your way up to a trade’s assistant and through our Security Technician levels within our trade structure. Once you have completed your traineeship, you will have obtained an open cabling certificate, Security Licence, 370 hours of practical experience, the ability to navigate internal security systems independently and be capable of internally showcasing ASIAL security tech level 1. The completion of a traineeship will open up opportunities within the growing electronic security business. We are seeking confident, self-motivated, intelligent, and reliable individuals that enjoy being hands on. Our Security Technicians are responsible for working on medium to large commercial and defence high security and industrial projects. You will actively contribute with the design, installation, and support of our growing portfolio of projects and long-term maintenance contracts.

What happens next?
If your application is successful, you can expect the following recruitment process:
Step 1: you will be contacted by a member of the Human Resource team to conduct a phone screen
– This process allows us to find out a little more about you and answer any questions you may have
surrounding the opportunity for our company
Step 2: Successful applicants will be invited to attend an in-person or online interview with no more
than 2 AMSG representatives. Our interview process is relaxed and will be tailored to the role and
candidate. This may mean more than one interview depending on the role.
Step 3: Afer successfully completing the interview process, AMSG will conduct your reference
checks.
Step 4: Successful candidates will receive a verbal offer from the Human Resources Manager and
once accepted a formal offer will be sent via email.
Some of our positions require candidates to undergo a pre-employment medical which will include a

Our Divisions
We operate in Australia’s most remote locations. From wave-sensing buoys in the Indian Ocean to Tsunami warning beacons north of Fiji, to satellite installations 1000km South of Darwin… if it’s critical, we do it.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND SYSTEMS
Our Infrastructure & Systems Division is responsible for the maintenance of over 500 Aids to Navigation around Australia.
Our Asset & Infrastructure Technicians build, install, repair, and remediate physical structures across Australia including Lighthouses, Buoys and Beacons.
Our Systems and Technology Techs design electronic solutions such as Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) & Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) and install, maintain, and retire these systems all around Australia & abroad for Clients such as Government Agencies, Maritime Authorities and Defence.
AMS Group has three types of trades within its maintenance capability: Engineers, Electronic Technicians and Infrastructure Technicians.
The infrastructure technicians build, install, repair, and remediate physical structures.
The electronic systems technicians design solutions and install, maintain, and retire these systems which usually sit atop our own infrastructure.
Our team of engineers support the technical aspects of all AMSG work.
We design, install, commission, and maintain VTS and Automatic Identification systems (AIS) throughout Australia and the Pacific Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) comprising of a suite of sensors, cameras and radars which are fused into a single operational picture. It is the maritime version of Air Traffic Control.
AVIATION AND MARINE
AMSG Aviation provides highly specialised services and solutions to both general and commercial aviation. For over 20 years, AMSG has continued as the maintenance contractor to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority for the provision of maintenance services for national search and rescue operations.
Our purpose-built CASA/EASA (European) approved facility maintains survival aids and associated equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers. Life vests, escape slides and gas canisters must be tested by deploying them annually or 5-yearly and repacked for stowage.
Our Marine Department consists of our Emergency Towage Vessel (ETV) called the Coral Knight which is tasked to perform salvage and emergency towage from the Torres Straight down to Mackay and out 500nm from the Australian mainland for any ships in distress, damaged or who have hit the reef.
SECURITY
AMS Group’s Security Division has over 25 years of experience, providing high-end access control, video management systems and bespoke integrated solutions. Our Security technicians are highly skilled in security systems, access control and duress systems.
CORPORATE SERVICES
AMS Group’s Corporate services consist of many teams, from IT to HR, Business Development to Operations Support and Finance to Logistics. Supporting all elements of the business these teams are a key function of the everyday business at AMSG.
POSEIDON SEA PILOTS
Poseidon has over 35 marine pilots, launch and dispatch crew which assist with delivering more than 5000 ship movements in & out of the Port of Brisbane and Melbourne every year.

Heritage-listed sites: AMSG manages the complex maintenance of heritage lighthouses throughout Australia and is responsible for ensuring they remain operational and compliant with international standards
AMSG has developed an environmentally sensitive vehicle to access atolls and sand islands on the Great Barrier Reef, minimising our footprint whilst performing critical safety tasks
AMSG is developing alternative power generation, storage, and monitoring capabilities to support remote critical assets requiring power and 99.5% uptime availability in harsh environmental conditions
