Nando’s operates over 1,200 restaurants in 30 countries.

Throughout Australia & New Zealand, you will find nearly 200 Nando’s restaurants with just over 2,500 Nandocas (that’s what we call our employees), and you can also find our sauces, PERinaise, PERi-PERi salt, rubs and marinades in supermarkets and retail outlets globally. But Nando’s has never been just about the chicken. It’s about the people who grill the chicken.

Nando’s is committed to leading the Australian and New Zealand restaurant industry in sustainability. We’ll do this by innovating, being bold and living our values to transform our business while supporting our supply partners, communities and the industry to do the same. Our goal is to halve the impact of a Nando’s meal by 2030.

When you work with us, you’ll be doing good in the world too. We’re always looking for ways to help change the lives of the people and communities around us, like through our national No Chuckin’ our Chicken program that donates excess chicken to people in need.  We love helping! In 2020 we fed the nation, donating $500,000 to Foodbank to help generate 1 million meals to feed Aussies in need, provided 15,000 meals for music artists through the music charity Support Act and offered an ongoing discount to Healthcare and Emergency Services workers.

We work with small-scale, independent chilli farmers in Southern Africa (our heartland and the birthplace of Nando’s where our signature Nando’s African Birds Eye Chillies are grown!) to empower them to run a successful business. There are plenty of ways you can get involved.

We’ve also set ambitious sustainability targets to be an active part of the climate change solution, and always eager to support you with causes that you’re passionate about. Does this light you up? Then we want to hear from you!

Our Purpose

Our purpose and reason for being is Changing Lives, Together.

Nandocas (that’s what we call our staff) all around the world work together to uplift others in really cool ways – selling chicken helps us do that.

To make this happen, we’ve developed a Compass to guide us. Our Compass is made up of five values and eight behaviours. Formed with the help of Nandocas around Australia, it represents our culture, what we believe in, how it feels to work at Nando’s and shapes how we deliver the best experience when working with us. Celebrating each other

Showing appreciation is one of our favourite Compass behaviours. We love celebrating each other’s success and there are plenty of ways we do it. One simple way is to award a Flaming Star card, a quick way to recognise someone for doing something great.

A bigger way to show appreciation is through our annual Nando’s Life & Soul award. Everyone at Nando’s gets to nominate the Nandoca who they feel best lives our Compass values. Being nominated already feels pretty great and we then send a group of Nandocas on an all-expenses paid journey to discover Southern Africa, the birthplace and heartland of Nando’s!

We’re totally serious about… having fun at work!

So much so, we’ve built fun into our Compass and have a fund dedicated to fun to help things along.

Our Nandocas get to enjoy free shift meals, team events and even get to compete in our annual competition to find Nando’s best flame-griller. We call this competition Master Griller and the best grillers in Australia are sent on an all-expenses paid trip overseas to represent Australia at the International Grillers Challenge competition.
