Living Our Purpose

Our purpose shapes everything we do as we strive to enhance people’s lives through nutrition, health and wellness, and work towards a better future for our world.

We live it when we enable and inspire people to lead healthier and happier lives. We live it through our zero-waste goal, water-use reduction and recycling innovations. We live it by engaging with internships, mentoring opportunities and partnerships with universities.

We live it when we support local communities; when our people volunteer at women’s shelters, with children in need, or with indigenous groups. And we live it through initiatives like our global youth initiative, which helps to equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in tomorrow’s workplaces by providing apprenticeships and training opportunities, supporting entrepreneurs in relevant industries like food service, and by hiring young people to work with us.

STEM at Nestlé

Nestlé is a brand that makes and sells popular products all over the world. To do this, we need people with skills in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

At Nestlé, we have employees working in exciting fields like IT, engineering, food technology, and health and safety. These jobs offer great chances for growth and learning in different roles and locations.

These teams work on projects that improve services, create new products, ensure safety, and monitor the environment. They analyse data to find patterns, reduce waste, and keep food safe. If you enjoy science, technology, math, and understanding how things work, then a career in engineering or science at Nestlé could be perfect for you.

As the world changes quickly, automation in manufacturing is more important than ever. Nestlé has incorporated many state-of-the-art systems at our manufacturing sites, making it a great place for those interested in STEM subjects to grow and develop their careers.

Things to Know

If you have an interest in Science, Technology, Maths, Data and how things work – you could be one step closer to an engineering or science career.

Look for an organisation that aligns with your own personal values, and can offer opportunities for career growth and development.

The operational world is changing at a rapid pace, automation is a key growth area within the manufacturing industry, and at Nestlé we have some of the best automation and networking systems in the world.

Gender Equality at Nestlé

At Nestlé, we believe diversity makes us stronger, and gender equality is key. We have more women than ever in managerial roles, our people have access to more flexible work arrangements than ever before, and all our people (regardless of gender) have access to generous parental leave. . We create a culture of trust and respect, training managers to recognize biases and support all employees.

Our flexible work policy helps employees balance their work and personal lives. We also partner with organisations like Wayfinder to promote gender balance in the industry. In short, gender equality is vital at Nestlé, and we’re dedicated to making it happen.

Things to Know

A lack of confidence can hold us back. You need to believe in yourself before you can instil confidence in others. At Nestlé, we work to create a community where we can support each other, share stories and discuss difficult issues without judgement – and have fun too. Unity is power – we are stronger together.

We know priorities – at home and at work – can blend and blur on any given day, and our How We Work flexibility policy reflects that. We trust our people to make choices about when and where they get their job done so that they can better balance their work and personal commitments. We’re proud to have been recognised externally for our flexible and inclusive work culture, with certifications from FlexAble and Work180.

Nestlé partners with organisations working within the wider industry to address gender balance concerns. One of these is Wayfinder, an initiative that aims to increase the visibility of careers in supply chain and logistics and break down industry stereotypes

Cultural Diversity at Nestlé

Nestlé is a global company that offers many opportunities and challenges. Our diversity is a key strength, bringing new ideas to solve problems. You can learn from inspiring leaders and collaborate with teams from different countries.

We value fairness, honesty, and care for people and the planet. Our culture is based on respect for ourselves, others, and diversity, which shapes our decisions and experiences.

To make our diverse teams inclusive, we address unconscious bias—stereotypes we may unknowingly hold and emphasise human rights through training. In short, diversity is essential to Nestlé and guides our actions.

Things to Know

Values based on respect

Our culture is built on respect – for ourselves, for others, for diversity and for the future. Respect goes beyond simple courtesy – it informs our decisions at each level of the organisation and guides the experience we offer.

Unconscious bias

When working as a diverse team we need to go one step further; we need to be inclusive. This means accepting others as equal members of a team and being aware of unconscious bias. Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious biases about various social and identity groups including gender and our people are being trained on being aware of bias.

Human rights

Embedding human rights into our day-to-day operations means everyone who works at Nestlé needs to understand what human rights entail. Our onboarding program includes human rights training that aims to provide more than just a general understanding and allows our people to understand how human rights abuses relate to the company as a whole but also their own areas of responsibility
