Work Experience | AEMO

Start your journey in energy with work experience at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). Explore how we manage the electricity and gas systems and markets across Australia, helping to make sure the lights stay on!

The Opportunity:

• 1 day per week – flexible on the day (we can work closely with your school on the details)
• Learn the ropes on all things Business Administration: reception, administration, onboarding, office management, customer service and hospitality for our employees
• Hands on experience in the Energy sector within our front desk, Workplace Experience Team

What You’ll Experience:

• Learn the building blocks of a working corporate life, in a safe space
• Understand the fundamentals of energy in Australia
• Mentoring with a Workplace Experience team leader

Eligibility:

• High school student with an interest in administration and customer service
• Desirable – High School student working towards a relevant certificate (e.g. Cert I in Business Administration)
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Eager to learn with a proactive attitude
• Must have the right to work in Australia

Locations:

• Brisbane office, 10 Eagle Street

Recruitment Process:

• Submit an application to tell AEMO about yourself and what you are hoping to learn.
• From there students will be invited to take a ‘gamified’ skills assessment and an interview with the friendly team (its not scary we promise)!
