The Mornington Peninsula is just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne city and is often described as Melbourne’s playground. It is the most popular informal recreation area in Victoria.

The  Mornington Peninsula Shire Council work experience program offers high school students the opportunity to gain valuable experience within local government.

There are several placement opportunities across the Shire, including:

  1. Library (Mornington)
  2. Library (Rosebud)
  3. Library (Hastings)
  4. Library (any location)
  5. Information Technology Team (Rosebud)
  6. Community Engagement Team (Rosebud)
  7. The Briars Nursery (Mt Martha)
  8. Visitor Centre (Dromana)
  9. Kitchen (Rosebud)

Work experience placements are open to all high school students living or attending a high school on the Peninsula.

How to apply:

  1. Fill in the Work Experience Expression of Interest Form below
  2. Select your preferred area of work experience
  3. Specify your placement dates
  4. Include reasons for wanting to undertake work experience at the Shire
