We also offer support through further study from external learning organisations including Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, Master’s Degrees and other certificates.

We understand that there are many factors that contribute to our overall wellbeing, including our mental, physical and financial health, as well as our family and community contributions. Our wellbeing incentive provides financial support for you to invest in your wellbeing and help you achieve your wellbeing goals.

You could find yourself working alongside colleagues to help social impact entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses, on projects that accelerate environment sustainability or as a mentor for college students.
Flexibility:
We aim to create a work environment around the world that enables flexible working and supports the health and wellbeing of all our people. The office serves as one working location, not as the only one. By providing our people with current technology and encouraging more flexible working, we’re enabling them to work at the office, in transit, at home or from client sites. In the office, our physical spaces provide more informal working areas and meeting rooms so you can successfully collaborate and network.
FLEXIleave:
You’ll have the opportunity to purchase up to six weeks extra leave. This provides you with more time for study, family or other personal pursuits.

We offer many leave options including Flex, International Representation, Graduation, Continuity of Service, Jury Service, Leave Without Pay, Gender Affirmation, Transition Provisions and Domestic Violence. Your recruiter and interviewers can provide you with more information on the types of leave available.
Community volunteering leave:

Social Club:
The EY Social Club organises a range of activities, from sporting events to informal and formal social functions.
Employee Insurances:
You have access to a fully subsidised Group Workplace scheme providing Group Life & Terminal Illness Insurances, and Income Protection.
Dress for your day:
We’ve introduced Dress for Your Day, a dress code that further binds our unique culture of flexibility, authenticity and creativity. It means our people can now dress in a way that is appropriate for their work each day. Those with no external client meetings can choose smart casual dress, while those meeting with external clients may opt for more formal attire.
Family leave:
We provide 26 weeks of paid parental leave, which can be taken flexibly by either parent during the 24 months after the child(ren)’s birth. There is no required service period to access the leave. This applies to stillborn birth, adoption, and surrogacy and can be taken as block leave or on a part-time basis. All family leave entitlements are inclusive of LGBTQ people, regardless of the gender of the Staff Member or their partner. This is on top of the Government’s paid parental leave provisions. We provide five days of paid leave for early pregnancy loss and fertility treatment. Along with leave for grandparents to take around the time of birth of adoption of a grandchild with further access to unpaid leave for up to 12 months.
Hear from our Students
First 60 days as a grad at EY (AU)
Hello, my name is Shrey, and I recently completed my Bachelor of Business major in Accounting from Western Sydney University. I’m currently working in the Financial Services Audit team at EY and wrapping up my last week working on an insurance engagement.
My initial week was quite straightforward, as I dedicated my time to engaging with success factors to enhance my theoretical knowledge. I also took advantage of networking opportunities by attending various EY events. A few weeks later, I had an opportunity to work on an engagement where I gained deeper knowledge about EY software, encountered new terminology, and learnt various methodologies used at EY.
One notable highlight I’d like to share is my recent opportunity to represent EY at a career fair. It was a full-circle moment for me, having once attended such events as an eager student with questions, and now having the privilege to represent EY.
Being a working professional in one of the Big 4 organisations is surprising in itself. EY’s commitment to diversity is evident, and the atmosphere is respectful and energising. Transitioning from a full-time student to a full-time working professional has been a significant change, but the welcoming nature within the organisation has made the transition smooth.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting incredible individuals who have generously shared their guidance and knowledge and never tired of answering my numerous questions.
With profound gratitude, I extend my thanks to everyone who has helped in my growth and learning journey since joining.

Your counsellor will be your main point of contact during your time with us and will be responsible for helping you develop professionally and personally.
Relationships
You’ll make plenty of contacts and connections during your Vacationer Program. To help cement these relationships, we recommend you get involved in the many opportunities and events on offer. You might also choose to become an ambassador for EY upon your return to university.

EY STEM App
The EY STEM App is an innovative gamified mobile app that aims to spark interest, inspire, and empower the next generation of girls into STEM subjects and careers. The free-to-use app is designed as an out-of-school learning tool and targets female students aged 13-18 years.
The app has over 450 activities that focus on STEM. It features topics focused on science, such as climate change or space exploration; technology, such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing and blockchain; the future of work and skills that may be required for future, yet-to-be-defined jobs; and inspirational stories of women in STEM. These activities map to transferrable skills in the OECD 21stcentury skills framework and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
With an incentivised learning model, girls earn points as they complete learning activities such as reading an article, interviewing members of their community, completing an experiment or watching a video. As they build up points, girls can redeem various rewards such as:
Digital vouchers to be spent across selected retailers
Mentoring workshops delivered by EY (topics include Future of Work, Day in the life of a Consultant and Women in Leadership)
Following an extensive pilot to over 7,000 girls in India and the United States, the program is now being scaled to countries globally – including Australia and New Zealand, with the aim of reaching 100,000 girls in 2022.
Express your interest!
We are seeking interest from organisations that work directly with schools/teachers to facilitate girls’ participation. There is no cost to you, schools or end-users of the app (girls).
Our Gender Network is for EY people of all genders and provides opportunities for members to learn and advocate for gender equity by bringing everyone into the conversation to share different perspectives on flexibility, wellbeing and career progression in the workplace.
The EY organisation offers 26 weeks of paid parental leave, which can be taken flexibly by either parent during the 24 months after the child(ren)’s birth. This applies to stillborn birth, adoption, and surrogacy and can be taken as block leave or on a part-time basis. All family leave entitlements are inclusive of LGBTQ+ people, regardless of the gender of the person or their partner. This is on top of the government’s paid parental leave provisions. All parents are supported through the transition to parenthood and return-to-work process, through access to mentoring and a digital coaching platform.
We invest in diverse talent for balanced and equitable representation in leadership and commercial areas of focus. Research suggests that without deliberate focus, these opportunities can be provided in a biased way that is not gender-balanced. Some of the examples of how we champion gender equity across the organisation include:
EY POWER Up™: POWER Up™is a professional development training that acknowledges the systemic barriers underrepresented talent face and provides a facilitated program focused on building personal leadership skills while aligning behaviours for women and allies to foster inclusion and belonging.
The EY Women in Technology (WiT) Network are committed to creating an inclusive culture to successfully harness technology’s potential and truly transform society. By educating women and girls, incubating their leadership potential and innovating new ways to empower a diverse technical workforce, we are dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. The program supports girls and women to enter, remain, thrive and lead in the world of technology.
Women. Fast Forward: At the EY organisation, we are creating an inclusive culture to help enable women’s potential to truly transform society and build a better working world. Women. Fast Forward is the EY global platform that engages our people, our clients and our communities to advance gender equality. Through Women. Fast Forward, the EY organisation seeks to help empower a diverse workforce by helping enable women and girls to reach their potential through education, mentorship, innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities. Creating a workforce that will support the closing of the gender gap and nurture an environment where everyone is able to become architects of the transformative age.
Entrepreneurial Winning Women™: Spanning 60 countries, EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ targets “the missing middle” – those savvy women founders who have built profitable small companies across a range of industries but have not yet found the essential tools needed to scale. The EY organisation can give the founders ongoing access to our vast resources, rich networks and know-how, strengthening their abilities to become market leaders while creating a vibrant global community of successful women entrepreneurs and inspiring role models.
EY Australia has also been recognised in the 2025 Work180 Australian Equitable Workplace Awards as the best performer in Professional Services and Consulting (Large Enterprise) and best performer in the Career Development Category. EY Australia also ranked second for top workplaces for women at the same awards.

Vision Australia
We welcome interns via the Vision Australia Graduate program, for 13-week internships, supporting graduates who are blind or have low vision. Through this program, we continue to foster a more inclusive and accessible workplace, while also strengthening our talent pipeline with diverse and capable individuals.
Neurodiversity Inclusion
We worked with Specialisterne in 2022 to pilot a neurodiversity recruitment program within the AI & Data team, which lead to permanent employment for four interns. Further iterations of the program have since been rolled out and we continue to work together to offer inclusive recruitment pathways.
The EY organisation’s first autism employment initiative, SwitchedOn, was provided in collaboration with the University of Sydney’s Brain & Mind Centre and earned recognition for its success. The program sparked several impactful initiatives, including the EY organisation’s annual Neurodiversity November campaign, which builds neuro-inclusive capability across the organisation. It also led to the creation of the Neurodiversity Community Connect group – a safe space for individuals with lived experience to connect – and the development of the Autism Workplace Champion program. SwitchedOn also laid the foundation for our first Neurodiversity Strategy for the Oceania region.
LGBTIQA+ at EY
Creating a work environment where LGBTQ+ professionals can be their authentic selves at work is a core element of our diversity and inclusiveness commitment. All EY people policies protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and our benefits packages provide same sex partnerships the same rights as all others. Some examples include our Gender Affirmation Leave and supporting guide to support staff members in affirming their gender identity and expression, and our ‘Dress for Your Day’ dress code that helps enable everyone to dress appropriately to the situation, client, the type of work they do, and in a way that aligns with their gender identity.
The EY organisation is a member of Pride in Diversity, and is proudly listed as a 2024 Platinum Employer at the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI). For several years, we have run a LGBTQ+ specific mentoring program, connecting LGBTQ+ EY people with senior leaders.
The EY global network group, Unity, supports LGBTQ+ EY people and their straight allies to create an inclusive culture where LGBTQ+ individuals can be their authentic selves at work. Unity also has closed community groups for those with firsthand lived experience.
We are committed to supporting Transgender, Gender Diverse and Non-Binary candidates through the EY recruitment process. Learn more by clicking here.
Cultural Diversity
The EY organisation is made up of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries of birth. Collectively, people across the EY organisation speak many languages and hold cultural experience in conducting business across global contexts. We aim to help ensure all EY people feel free to bring their full selves to work, and that our senior leadership reflects the broader cultural dimensions of our organisation.
EY Australia has developed a cultural diversity strategy and set a target of 30% cultural diversity in the member firm partnerships by 2027.
Our flexible working policy allows EY people to substitute a public holiday (up to 2 times a year) for any reason, including days of cultural significance.
EY Australia is a member of the Asian Leadership Project, an Australian innovation launched in 2017, with a mission to fast-track diverse Asian talent into Leadership to break through the bamboo ceiling.
The CD@EY (Cultural Diversity at EY) Network aims to help empower the EY community to build a better working world through cultural diversity at work, with clients, the marketplace and the wider community. CD@EY runs initiatives to connect culturally diverse leaders and emerging leaders to help ensure the right mechanisms and support are in place to help enable EY professionals to realise their potential. The network has a core aim to increase awareness and appreciation of EY talent and to foster two-way dialogue and knowledge sharing between professionals of different heritages and faiths.
The EY organisation established the Cultural Diversity mentoring program, a six-month program designed to explore and support some of the challenges faced by our culturally diverse people and help build a sense of belonging. The program has provided participants access to targeted development and mentorship from senior leaders within the firm, with the intention of building the pipeline of culturally diverse leaders that reflects the communities in which EY teams serve.
First Nations People
EY Australia’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched in 2011. In May 2025 we released our fourth RAP, which marked a positive step forward in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and to building a workplace and a society that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The EY organisation’s commitment to reconciliation extends beyond compliance to creating meaningful impact – by embedding reconciliation in our core business practices, we aim to influence the broader corporate sector to foster economic participation of, and economic empowerment for, Australia’s First Nations peoples.
Our First Nations Talent Acquisition Manager extensively reviewed and updated the recruitment process to help ensure we offer a culturally informed approach, designed to set all candidates up for success. Recruiters and members of the hiring team also attend training to uplift their cultural capability.
FY24 saw the pilot of a work shadow program for Indigenous high school students, providing insight into EY and Professional Services as a whole, removing barriers and opening additional career pathways.
Office of First Nations Engagement
The Office of First Nations Engagement is committed to providing First Nations business and stakeholders with respectful services that promote empowerment and generate strategic transformation. The Office seeks to help empower First Nations people in Australia to secure a better future. Harnessing our experience and resources, we work closely with and for the First Nations sector, as well as the government agencies and corporates that help empower them, to effectively lead, govern and provide transformative outcomes for their communities.
