The Helicopter Mission Commander (known in the Navy as a Maritime Aviation Warfare Officer) acts as the Mission Commander on board a range of advanced Navy aircraft—such as the MRH-90 and MH-60R Seahawk. During this year-long experience, immerse yourself in Navy’s unique maritime aviation environment, learning about the helicopter’s navigation and weapons systems as part of the control team. Be paid to train and upon completion of your initial military and initial employment training, you could earn a package worth $58,877.
In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care, service and uniform allowances, as well as a Maritime Allowance (if applicable).
For this role, you must have completed Year 12 level of secondary education (or equivalent) to Officer Entry standard, or if applying for UNSW/ADFA – achieved an ATAR which would qualify you for entry into the relevant degree stream. Applications can be considered if you are yet to complete Year 12 and are tracking towards the required ATAR.
