We seek a motivated and confident individual for a traineeship position at our Northeast Regional Laboratory located within our Glenrowan Quarry. This entry-level role is designed for professional development, providing opportunities for on-the-job learning and hands-on experience whilst you progress through a 12–15-month traineeship as you advance your career with Mawsons.

The Opportunity

This full-time, ongoing position will assist in various laboratory operations related to the analysis and testing of aggregate materials. The job provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the quarrying and materials industry. The trainee will work under the guidance of experienced lab technicians to learn standard testing procedures, data collection methods, and quality control practices.

Other duties will include:

  • Assist in testing and analysis of aggregate materials
  • General laboratory tasks, following safety protocols
  • Support quality control processes to ensure product standards
  • Help maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to learn industry practices
  • Record test results accurately and assist in maintaining records and documentation
  • Engage in other quarry tasks as appropriate to training and skills

Criteria

  • Commitment to undertake Certificate IV Laboratory Techniques qualification
  • Current Australian drivers licence
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • A positive attitude, good work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Total commitment to workplace safety, quality and compliance
