WesTrac’s latest announcement has got us pumped, and we’re excited to share the buzz:

The new WesTrac Technology Training Centre (WTTC) in Collie opens doors to new opportunities for young, ambitious minds!

Last year’s whopping $1 million investment from the State Government’s Collie Futures Industry Development Fund was just the spark needed to ignite this incredible expansion.

The goal? To turbocharge economic diversification and job creation right here in the southwest.

Why Focus on Regional Opportunities?

Why Collie, you ask? Because they’re not just preserving industrial history, WesTrac is revving up for a future that puts regional opportunities on the global map for cutting-edge autonomous technology training!

Imagine this: The WTTC stands tall as one of only two such facilities worldwide and the ONLY one outside the US! Now, it’s not just a training centre; it’s a one-of-a-kind playground where you can master the art of operating ‘driverless’ Caterpillar trucks.

Yep, you read that right—trucks without drivers!

But it’s not just about the high-tech gadgets; it’s about community. With its rich history, Collie is evolving into a dynamic hub for emerging industries. This expansion means saying, “Hey, we’re in this together!”

Building the Skills for the Future

Since opening in August 2020, over 400 students have dived into the world of autonomous mining tech, gaining hands-on experience that sets them apart. The expanded space at the training centre means more room for you and your pals to dive headfirst into the future of technology.

In collaboration with the Motivation Foundation, WesTrac has supported countless young individuals in earning qualifications and securing full-time employment, with the improved facilities set to sustain and bolster this impactful partnership.

WesTrac collaborates closely with South Regional TAFE and Collie Senior High Schools, offering a Certificate II in Autonomous Workplace Operations. Soon, a Certificate III will be available to TAFE and high school students, further cementing the region’s position as a pioneer in autonomous technology education.

The WTTC is more than a training ground; it’s a launchpad for young individuals to soar high, armed with qualifications and ready for full-time employment.

Well Deserved Recognition

As WesTrac continues to invest in Collie’s future, our unwavering commitment echoes through the support for the Collie Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards. WesTrac is not just expanding but adding layers of support for YOU—future leaders and workforce superheroes.

So, buckle up, Collie! The WTTC is not just a training centre; it’s your ticket to a career filled with innovation, growth, and success in a world that’s evolving faster than ever.
