Pathways to Deloitte

There’s no need to wait until you have years of work experience to join us. Deloitte has a range of programs that will help you gain experience while you’re studying at university to build your skills, experience and enable you to explore what you might be interested in doing after uni.

Summer Internship Program

Created for students in their second-to-last year of their degree, this program will give you a taste of what it’s like to work at Deloitte. This 4 to 8-week paid internship will get you involved in real client projects and provide you with a dedicated buddy and career coach to show you the ropes at Deloitte.

We also have a four-to-eight-week placement for First Nations students in their second-last year of university. You’ll team up with Deloitte professionals, build skills in your chosen field, and contribute to projects that support Indigenous communities.

As one of Australia’s most awarded and highly regarded student programs, there’s no doubt that as a Deloitte intern, you’ll have an enviable start to your early career.

Deloitte Graduate Program

Our Graduate Program kicks off each February and welcomes final-year students or recent graduates (up to two years out) who can join us full time. With tailored training, a dedicated buddy and an experienced career coach, you’ll step straight into the Building Brilliant Beginnings program and fast-track your move from classroom to client work.

From day one, you’ll work on purpose-led projects that create real value for businesses and communities. Expect plenty of client exposure, constant feedback and networking with fellow grads, leaders and industry specialists. Your degree doesn’t lock you into one path, tech minds thrive in Tax, engineers succeed in Audit and creative thinkers shine in Strategy, so your interests can take you almost anywhere across the firm.

Throughout the program you’ll keep learning through formal courses, on-the-job experience and guidance from your coach. You’ll also have chances to give back through Deloitte Impact Day and our year-round partnerships with local charities.

Virtual Work Experience

Our virtual internship program is an online course that simulates what you could do at Deloitte if you worked here! It is self-paced and free of charge, designed for students interested in pursuing careers in STEM-related fields.

You’ll get to experience what it is like to work on a project that mirrors our team’s skills and the work they do in the real world. You will build skills in coding, data analysis, software development, cybersecurity, and forensic technology.

Me at Deloitte

Me at Deloitte is a two-day program designed for students in their first, second, or even third year of study, depending on the length of the university degree. It will allow you to discover how different career paths align with your studies, talents, and strengths. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fantastic learning experience. The program is usually offered nationally, with students coming into one of our offices around Australia.

During the program, you’ll have the chance to connect with Deloitte team members who can share their experiences and give you insights into what it’s like to work at Deloitte. We offer a unique combination of great learning content and hands-on experience opportunities that can help you shape your career path.

Gender Diversity

Deloitte’s global All-In commitment is to achieve gender parity at all levels of our organisation, and we continue to make progress towards this goal. All-In starts with the tone set at the top by leadership. It includes programs to support women in developing and growing their careers.

We’ve set a goal to have women leaders, role models and allies in every part of our business, strongly influencing decision-making and change. To have 40% female representation across all leadership teams and job levels by 2027.

We’re 1 of 2 organisations in Australia to have held the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) citation for 22 consecutive years. We’ve introduced gender targets for all business areas and new dashboards to drive progress. Employees who identify as women now represent 50% of all our workforce up to Manager and over 40% of Firm Executive and Board roles.

When it comes to equal pay, we review the pay of all of our people twice a year to ensure that there is less than a 1% difference between genders for the same or similar work across Deloitte.

Regarding our gender pay gap, we know that the biggest contributor is female representation at our more senior levels. We aspire to have 40% female representation across all leadership teams and job levels by 2027.
