Why did you start your apprenticeship with Komatsu?

I wanted to do something different and thought electrics would be an interesting career path. I did a pre apprenticeship during school and loved it, so I decided to apply to Komatsu and was lucky enough to get the job.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the hands-on aspect of the job the most, I love being able to complete a machine build start to finish and have the satisfaction of seeing it leave the workshop working again.

Why would you recommend this apprenticeship to another person?

I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who enjoys critical thinking and looking for a hands-on career. The ability to be able to learn while earning money is a great privilege of doing a trade.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy snorkelling and fishing and going out to eat on my days off.

What would you say to someone considering an Apprenticeship?

Don’t be afraid to give it a shot there is a huge amount of support within Komatsu that will help see you through to the end of your apprenticeship and even beyond that.
