From humble beginnings in 1934, the CMV Group has grown to be one of South Australia’s longest privately-owned family businesses, with fourth generation family members in management positions throughout the company, and a continued focus on upholding the core CMV Group values.
From a staff of five in 1934, there are now in excess of 1800 employees serving tens of thousands of customers andbusinesses across South Australia and Victoria, resulting in an annual turnover approaching 2 billion dollars.
Brands we represent
The CMV Group has three main divisions: CMV Automotive, CMV Trucks and CMV Farms, and continues to grow and acquire new businesses along the way.
Our Automotive division in SA incorporates CMI Toyota, Mercedes Benz Adelaide, Lexus of Adelaide, Southside Suzuki, Barry Maney Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen. Our Trucking division in both SA and Vic have us working with both light and heavy truck brands, including Hino, Kenworth, DAF, Volvo, Mack and UD. Our Farms division has substantial holdings in growing and processing Almonds, Pistachios and Wine Grapes and is located in regional SA and Vic.

Entry level roles include our Apprenticeship program for light vehicle technicians, heavy diesel technicians, parts interpreters, and trailer technicians. Other entry level roles include reception, administration, customer care, parts warehousing, sales and orchard and vineyard operations.

Our Stepping Up program is the first step in our leadership development journey and is designed for those who show potential, providing exposure to the foundations of front line management.
Future Leaders Program
The Future Leaders Program is a more robust program and is designed for those currently supervising others to truly develop both the practical and soft skills needed to become an effective leader. Graduates from this program have gone on to hold management roles within our Group, including Service Managers, Branch and Property Managers and even a General Manager.
Automotive Apprenticeships
In today’s modern workshops, vehicle technicians must be able to problem solve, be highly skilled in the latest technology and machinery, and also be able to work as part of a team.
The CMV Group offers a range of light and heavy vehicle automotive apprenticeships across South Australia and Victoria. If you are interested in a career in the fast-moving automotive industry and are seeking more than just a job, then a unique CMV Group automotive apprenticeship may be just for you!
As well as light and heavy vehicle technician apprenticeships, we also offer parts apprenticeships and trailer technician apprenticeships.
Apprenticeship recruitment usually begins towards the end of the school year and intakes begin at the end of January.

Staff Functions
Fostering a rich sense of community and culture within the business is important to us. Each year, an Annual Staff Dinner is held for all staff members and their partners, in both South Australia and Victoria. At these Dinners, employees are recognised for their hard work and dedication through various awards and long-standing employees are also highlighted. At Christmas, our annual Christmas Picnic is held for all staff and their families in both South Australia and Victoria.
CMV Group Foundation
Giving back to the community has long been a big, and extremely important part of our culture at the CMV Group.
Through both the CMV Group Foundation and the CMV Group Staff Foundation, substantial funds have been channelled towards assisting worthy causes, organisations and those less fortunate in our wider communities.
Recently, the CMV Group celebrated 15 years of employees donating to the CMV Group Staff Foundation. Thanks to the donations made by our employees, over two million dollars has been given to over 500 organisations in the local community. This was widely celebrated across all CMV Group businesseswith commemorative cookies and a special morning tea.
