We re-manufacture and recycle today, for a better tomorrow.
Visy is an Australian-owned, global leader dedicated to making serious progress in the sustainable packaging and recycling industries.
Our unique closed-loop systems – where we collect and sort used paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals and re-make them back into sustainable packaging – help power the circular economy.
Not sure what the ‘circular economy’ is? At its simplest, it is a different way of thinking about how we make and use products as a society.
It’s driven by our need to move from a ‘throw away’ culture, where we use goods for a limited time and then discard them. This type of thinking drives waste, inefficiencies and the unnecessary use of limited resources.
It’s why at Visy we make new cardboard boxes out of old used boxes. And new glass bottles and jars from old used glass. This reduces communities’ reliance on natural resources and reduces the amount of waste going to landfills. It is one really important weapon in our global efforts to address climate change.
Not only do we aim to make our packaging from sustainable sources, but we also make simply loads of it! Last year we made more than 2 billion beverage cans, 3.5 billion glass bottles and jars, and 2.5 billion boxes. That’s not to mention all the food cans and other packaging we make. When you think about it, there’s a high chance that the packaging your breakfast ingredients came in, were made by the team here at Visy.
As you can imagine, to make all that packaging we need a lot of facilities. We have more than 140 operations across Australia and New Zealand, with a team of more than 7,000 people. This means there are lots of opportunities to develop and grow your career with us.
We know that, together, we can create a better world.
